Greetings from the Chairman
The Taehwa River, which has been transformed from a river of death to a river of ecology, has a total of 140 species of birds, including migratory birds such as rooks, jackdaws, and egrets, and various fish species such as minnows, sweetfish, and salmon return. As a result, it has begun to establish itself as an ecological treasure house. Eventually, Taehwa River was designated as one of the first 12 National Ecotourism Destinations by the Ministry of Environment in 2013. I think this is a feat achieved by local residents, civic societies, and Ulsan City Goverment through governance. In particular, the 8th Asian Bird Fair was held in Ulsan in November 2017, giving Ulsan an opportunity to leap forward as an international eco-city.
Now, the Taehwa River is evolving into a world river that the citizens of the world are interested in and visited beyond the local river. To this end, the Taehwa River Ecotourism Association will promote ecotourism development keeping the key principles of ecotourism.
Firstly, we will give priority to the conservation of environment. Secondly, we will create ecotourism with high added value by combining tourism with ecology. Lastly, we will provide social benefits to local residents who are affected by migratory birds. Ecological stream, the Taehwa River is where nature and humans coexist, and we put our top priority on sustainable ecotourism with local residents. We ask for your interest and support in Taehwa River Ecotourism.
Mr. Park, Changhyeon
